Pyrgousikos: this dance is from Pyrgi, Chios Island (Greece) and it's two-beat (2/4). The lyrics say "every year on August 15, we go to Pyrgi where the Dormition of the miraculous Virgin Mary is celebrated". Every year on that day, there is a great festival in Pyrgi, with music, dance, food, and wine. The festival is held in the main square of the village, in front of the 17th-century Post-Byzantine and Genoese-styled Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. In particular, it was built in 1694. That is the church were my late grandfather Rev. Alexander Colombos was the Parish Priest for many years!
